However, the bitter-sweet moment after the final whistle on Sunday evening turned tragic for the deceased Jackson Aineruhanga who was allegedly stabbed to death.

Manchester United’s goal rejected

According to Bushenyi police Spokesperson Marcial Tumusiime, the deceased developed a misunderstanding with the suspect while watching the match at a village hall.

Their argument reportedly escalated after a goal scored by Man United’s Alejandro Garnacho was ruled out after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.

“The two later on went to a bar where they were ejected because of their endless quarreling. This forced the suspect to run after the victim whom he stabbed in the chest with a sharp object,” Tumusiime explained.

Unfortunately, the 21-year-old Arsenal fan bled to death and his body was moved to Kabwohe Health Centre IV awaiting postmortem.

Detectives visited the scene of the crime where they reportedly recovered a piece of stick with blood stains. “The suspect’s open shoes were also discovered at the scene,” the police boss added.

Manchester United’s position

Meanwhile, Arsenal moved three points up in the Premier League table to stand at position five.

Their rival Manchester United remained within the bottom 10 at a staggering position 11 on the table.
