A group of Manchester United fans in Uganda, dressed in the club’s iconic kit, gathered in an undisclosed location to offer prayers and dedicate their new manager, Ruben Amorim, to the Lord.
A video circulating on social media shows the passionate fanbase, which included individuals from various age groups—ranging from young children to senior citizens—united in their support for the Portuguese coach.
Ruben Amorim: A New Chapter for Manchester United
The 39-year-old Portuguese tactician, appointed in early November, replaced Dutchman Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager. Amorim joined the club from Sporting Lisbon on a two-and-a-half-year deal, as reported by the BBC.
Amorim’s first match in charge ended in a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road. His appointment comes at a critical time, as the club continues to seek a return to its former glory. Manchester United has struggled to clinch the Premier League title since the departure of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
Expectations from Ruben Amorim
The Manchester United ownership brought in Amorim to rejuvenate the squad and guide the team to a competitive position in the league. His primary goal is to help United build a side capable of competing for major domestic and international titles.
