Manchester United unveils season 2024/25 away kits inspired by their 90s shirt

Manchester United, in collaboration with kit manufacturer Adidas, has unveiled its away kit for the 2024/25 season, inspired by the club’s iconic 90s kit.

The kit features an all-over graphic built around a bespoke ‘M’ design, nodding to popular shirts from the era.

The design also pays tribute to the three rivers that flow through Manchester the Irk, Medlock and Irwell which hold special significance to Manchester United as the crossing point where the Theatre of Dreams meets the city. Three lighter shades of blue run through the polo club collar, connecting fans and players to the club’s home, while playing in away colours.

Signing off the back of the design is silver detailing through the iconic Adidas three stripes down each shoulder, the Adidas and sponsor logo, and the Manchester United Devil on the back of the collar giving a modern and premium finish to the club’s renowned icon.

“We have the honour every season to resonate with fans via special nods to their club and culture – and for the Manchester United away kit this season, it’s the city itself. Through features such as the collar and a nostalgic design that speaks to beloved design codes, we champion elements of the city and club’s history, finished with premium modern details to stand out on the streets, in the stands and on the pitch,” said Sam Handy, SVP of Product and Design at Adidas.

The on-field version of the jersey is constructed with HEAT.RDY technology which uses advanced materials to maximize airflow to keep players feeling cool, while the fan version features AEROREADY technology, which uses sweat-wicking or absorbent materials to keep the body feeling dry.
