Tina Makena, the girlfriend of renowned Kenyan artist Masauti, has publicly apologized after admitting to cheating on the popular musician. The revelation has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, where Masauti, known for his soulful hits like “Ipepete” and “Sokote,” enjoys a large and devoted fanbase.
In an emotional video posted on her TikTok page, Tina expressed deep remorse for her actions, acknowledging the pain she caused Masauti.
“I am here to apologize to Masauti, I am very sorry about that,” Tina said.
Referring to an interview that caught her by surprise, she continued, “I wasn’t aware of the interview; it caught me off guard.”
Tina also addressed Richwrld, seemingly involved in the controversy, saying, “Richwrld, stop with your interviews and gifts. You’ve already broken mine, so what do you expect me to do now? You should be helping me apologize—you’re the one who brought all this trouble.”
She concluded with heartfelt apologies, saying, “Help me apologize, kuomba msamaha. I’m feeling bad; I’ve listened to the song Masauti released about Tina. It made me feel terrible, I am feeling so bad and I’m very sorry.”
The apology from Tina Makena comes just days after the “Ipepete” hitmaker, released a song dedicated to her, following his discovery of her infidelity.
The drama unfolded when Kenyan content creator Rich World, known for his bold videos where he tests the loyalty of people’s partners, featured Masauti in one of his latest episodes.
In the video, Rich World called Tina and asked her to name her boyfriend, anticipating that she would say Masauti. Instead, Tina named Brayo as her boyfriend, leaving both the online audience and Masauti shocked, as the artist was reportedly unaware of her affair.
Reacting to the betrayal, Masauti channelled his heartbreak into music, swiftly releasing a song titled “Tina,” which vividly captures the pain and disappointment he felt.
In a series of Instagram posts, Masauti expressed his emotions, saying:
“Tina, ulichonifanya nimependa sana.”
“Umefanya nimeingia studio, nimerecord wimbo mzuri sana sababu yako.”
“Hope itakubamba ukiwa na Brayo.”
