Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi and Murang’a Woman representative Betty Njeri got engaged today in a colorful ‘ruracio’.
The lovers who are both political leaders belonging to the United Democratic Alliance graced the internet with pictures of their colorful traditional wedding.
Among those who attended the wedding was Kirinyaga’s Governor Ane Waiguru, MP Silvanus Osoro, Agnes Kagure , and Governor Susan Kihiki amaong others.

The two are said to have met last year during the August 2022 Elections for their campaigns where fate had other plans.
They announced their relationship to the public early in January 2023 where they expressed their love for each other by sharing sweet messages on the internet.
“God gave me Betty, this girl is fine, she has all I would look for in a woman, at home she is a wife, my best friend, my prayer partner, mother to our children, and the one I have chosen to grow old with,” Eric said.

Betty reciprocated the love shown to her by replying in the comments section saying how much she loved him.
At the ceremony, Eric shared a sweet video of how he went down on one knee to ask Betty for her hand in marriage.
The excited Betty was overwhelmed and went on to ask the MPs present if they were aware of the proposal.
“One day at a time, sweet Jesus. He makes all things beautiful in his own time. Thanks my sisters for organizing this wonderful surprise. My dear Eric, you rock,’ Betty said during the ceremony.
They two embraced each other as the crowd cheered on and celebrated their love.
