Neigbour’s account
The neighbor recounted, “From the time I moved into that house, the two used to fight… sometimes, in a month, I would not hear anything, and sometimes I would hear it twice a week.”
Chemutai Kipkorir, the witness, went on to share a chilling account of the events that unfolded on December 12, 2022.
She disclosed that on that fateful day, she was inside her house when she suddenly heard commotion emanating from Asad’s residence.
Asad’s temper
While she didn’t physically intervene or attempt to separate them, Chemutai conveyed that amidst the tumult, she distinctly heard a woman’s cries of distress.
As the chaos escalated, she heard Asad shouting, “Get out of my house,” followed by the lady’s anguished cries.
Feeling alarmed, Chemutai swiftly used her house intercom to alert the security guard, who responded promptly by knocking on the door and ringing the bell.
However, the respite was short-lived.
“Thereafter, the commotion stopped for about five minutes, and then the commotion started again. I heard sounds of a struggle,” she testified.
In response to the escalating situation, Chemutai dialed 911 and contacted the Kileleshwa association chairman, desperately seeking police intervention.
As the events unfolded, she recounted hearing the sound of shattering glass from her dining room window and someone groaning in pain.
Witnessing the grim scene from her balcony, she described how neighbors and the chairman rushed to Asad’s aid, carrying him outside, covered in blood, and tending to his injuries.
