Meagan Good discloses she’s good friends with ex-husband DeVon Franklin: “His a good person”

Two years after her divorce from DeVon Franklin, actress Meagan Good is candidly sharing her journey of grief and growth.

During a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Meagan opened up about the profound impact her divorce had on her.

Additionally, how she has navigated the path to healing.

“My divorce shook me to my core,” Meagan revealed. “Lord, you asked me to be celibate, and I was; you told me to marry, and I married that person.”

Reflecting on her marriage, she said, “I tried to do everything to the best of my ability, and no, I didn’t do everything perfectly, but I don’t know if I could do anything differently if I’m being honest.

I was like, why is this happening?

My greatest fear was that my husband would leave me after 10 years of marriage, similar to my dad leaving my mom, and that’s exactly what happened.”

Initially, Meagan felt anger towards Franklin.

However, with time and self-love, she gained a new perspective on their relationship.

“At the time, I was so mad at DeVon, but now I think what he did was brave,” Meagan admitted.

“To grow where we were supposed to grow, we should’ve been married for that time.

I can now look at DeVon and say ‘That’s a good person’ and be grateful for our time.”

Meagan Good moving on

Meagan has since moved on and is now in a relationship with actor Jonathan Majors.

She has embraced her healing journey and shared valuable insights she learned.

“A big part of the journey was discovering that when it feels like your life is ending, sometimes it’s really just beginning,”

“And there’s a blessing even in what feels like one of the worst moments of your life.”

She emphasized the importance of trust in the healing process.

“And then trusting that process, about your perception, attitude, approach, and mentality. And so that’s something I think I could relate to the most.”

Through her struggles and eventual healing, she has found a way to embrace new beginnings and appreciate the journey, no matter how painful it may have been.
