Sniper’s main murder suspects face fresh murder charges

Vincent Murithi Kirimi Alias Supuu O’mioro and four others have been charged afresh before the High Court in Kiambu in connection with the murder of Daniel Muthiani Bernard Alias Sniper after the court allowed prosecution application seeking to consolidate the two cases against them.

Vincent Murithi Kirimi Alias Supuu and Murangiri Kenneth Guantai Alias Tali had been charged separately with Christus Manyara Kiambi Alias Chris, Brian Mwenda Alias Brayo, and Bonface Kithinji Njiiyia Alias Dj Kaboom. They all pleaded not guilty to the charge before Lady Justice Hon. Abigail Mshila.

The prosecution team, through ADPP, Ms. Sarah Ogweno; Ag. ADPP, Ms. Evelyn Onunga and PC, Ms. Brenda Parklea argued that consolidation is in the best interests of justice because it saves court time and that the application is premised on the ground that the two cases arise from similar facts and circumstances.

It is alleged that the accused persons, on diverse dates between 2nd December, 2023 and 6th December, 2023 at River Mutonga in Ciakariga Sub-County within Tharaka Nithi County, jointly with others not before court, murdered Daniel Muthiani Bernard Alias Sniper.

The bail hearing is scheduled for 14/3/2024 subject to the receipt of the pre-bail report . The Probation and Aftercare Service was allowed 14 days to conduct a social inquiry. The matter will be mentioned virtually on 7/3/2024 to confirm the availability of a pre-bail report.
