DCI Detectives have launched investigations after armed individuals shot and injured a couple during an attack at their residence in Majogi village, Meru County.
The man, known as Stephen Makanju, suffered three gunshot injuries to his stomach, while his wife was shot in the abdomen.
The reason for the attack remains unclear, according to the police report.
Police reported that the attackers tried to set fire to the couple’s four-bedroom house but failed in their attempt.
Additionally, they shot at the front door of the house and tragically killed one of the cows on the property.
Upon reaching the location, the authorities found two used 5.56mm cartridges.
The police picked the bullet cartridges from the scene for ballistic analysis.
Meanwhile, the injured individuals were rushed to Kiwa Mission Hospital for medical care.
No suspect has been arrested in connection to the incident as police continue with investigations.
