This piece is the standout item among approximately 200 pieces of rock memorabilia being auctioned.
Organizer Arthur Perault from the Artpeges Gallery acknowledged that valuations for Michael Jackson items have recently declined.
The organiser explained the devaluation is due to the sale of counterfeit items and allegations against the pop icon.

Allegations against Michael
Michael Jackson faced long-standing allegations of child abuse, which continue to be disputed by his heirs.
The singer consistently denied these allegations until his passing in 2009 at the age of 50.
Despite it being almost 15 years since his passing, a court in Los Angeles has revived one of his abuse cases.

Iconic moment
The iconic moment associated with the black fedora occurred during a televised Motown concert in 1983.
The hat was initially picked up by a man named Adam Kelly, who believed that Jackson’s staff would retrieve it, but they did not.
Kelly held onto the hat for several years, and it has since changed hands through a couple of private collectors beforehand at the Paris Auction.
Additional items at the action apart from Michaels’s hat are one of Madonna’s gold records.
