Microsoft is now selling a new black version of the Xbox Series S with 1TB of built-in storage.

However, the only modifications from the original white Xbox Series S are a black exterior paint job and increased storage capacity.

-How much will it cost-

The next-generation gaming console is Priced at $349, which is KSh50,542.

Nevertheless, the gaming console remains one of the most budget-friendly options for playing the latest games.

One of these gaming instalments exclusive to the Microsoft console is Starfield.

The game will be launching on Xbox Series S / X and PC in the first week of September 2023.

The carbon black exterior now matches the larger Xbox Series X, while the white Xbox Series S, priced at $299, which is KSh43,30.

-What the Xbox upgrade offers-

However, this upgrade to 1TB in the black model enables you to install a modern Call of Duty game without worrying too much about available storage.

In essence, you’re paying an extra $50 which is KSh7,241 for an additional 512GB of storage compared to the more than $100 cost.

This increase in storage is highly significant, considering that the older Xbox Series S model only offered 364GB of usable storage.

-Does the physical console change?-

Consequently, with the black model, you now have over 800GB of usable storage.

The ports on this model remain unchanged, with two USB ports, and an Ethernet port.

The console will also still have a storage expansion slot and HDMI 2.1 out at the rear.

At the front, there’s a single USB port and no disc drive.

The black Xbox Series S also includes a black controller, matching the Xbox Series X.

-What didn’t change on the console-

Microsoft has retained the black coating on the speaker-like circle at the top, rather than switching to a white coating.

This circle serves as the main fan for the Xbox Series S, expelling heat from the console.

It maintains a uniform black appearance throughout the Xbox Series S.

In contrast to the “robot white” 512GB model, where the fan area is black.
