Kenya’s generation of Millenials and Gen Z will carry the biggest burden of Kenyan debt according to strategist Arnold Maliba.
In an interview on TV47’s Power And Politics with George Maringa, Arnold Maliba voiced his support for Gen Zers.

“It is important for them to actually stand up and voice up the way they are doing,” Maliba stated.
Additionally, he responded to Maringa that Kenyans were within their rights to express themselves.
“The one thing anyone should not tell you is that, going out to voice your ideas and speaking out can be criminalized. That should not be criminalized.” shared Maliba.

Maliba: Kenyans should represent themselves
During the exchange with Maringa, Maliba dispelled the notion that any one person holds the right to speak for Kenyans.
He stated that there was a need to encourage Gen Zers to voice their view of how the country is being run.

According to Maliba, there was a need “We move away from this notion that some 79-year-old man should be defending a nation when we have 26-year-olds like Kasmuel.”

Maliba stated that Kenyans did not have to wait for figures like Raila Odinga to fight for the citizenry when there were more qualified people.
According to him, the Kenyan Constitution of 2010 gave Kenyans the power to actively participate in the running of the country.

Leaders don’t have a monopoly on ideas
Strategist Maliba did however swing a bat towards leaders in Kenya on coming up with ideas and means to run the country.
According to him, leaders in Kenya had to come to terms with the reality that, they do not have the monopoly of ideas in running the country.

“The people of Kenya are co-governors in their own country. There are no ‘led’ and ‘leaders.’ stated Maliba.
Nonetheless, he defined the Gen Z demos as them engaging in public participation which the government listened to.
In addition, he highlighted that Kenyans also have to listen to the government’s response to their issue.
