It was a sombre mood for residents of a Naivasha estate after fire broke out in one of the homes burning one minor to death.
The minor had been locked inside the house together with his two siblings who were rescued by the neighbors.
Unluckily one minor was burnt beyond recognition while the two were left nursing burns.
“The mother had locked the house from the outside and we still don’t know the cause of the fire but one minor died and two others were rescued,” said one of the neighbors.

According to one neighbor by the name John Mwai, members of the public had to break into the burning house to rescue the minors who were trapped inside.
However, it is reported that the mother allegedly locked the house with the children inside and left to have a couple of drinks at Naivasha town.
The two are currently in stable condition and are recuperating at Naivasha Sub County Hospital.
Police who arrived at the scene collected the remains of the deceased minor.
The incident was confirmed by Naivasha Deputy County Commissioner Mutua Kisulu who said that over ten households were affected by the fire.
