Missing cartoonist Gideon Kibet Bull found alive

Cartoonist Gideon Kibet ‘Bull’ has reunited with his family after being released by his alleged abductors.

This was after Kibet was reported missing over two weeks ago.

In a social media post on his X account, the cartoonist said that he was dropped in Luanda, Vihiga County on Monday January 6, 2025.

“They dropped me in Luanda Vihiga at 3-4 am today. I did not know where to go or where to book a room,” he said.

“I looked for a place to stay until morning for my own safety because I did not know anyone or the place,” he added.

His mother, Caroline Mutai, confirmed Kibet’s release.

“They told me, mom, I am in Nakuru; the festive season was tough for me because I was crying for my son. I prayed to God to help me get my sons back. I am happy now,” Caroline Mutai said.

Kibet said that he decided to tweet on X to inform Kenyans that he is safe and heading home.

He further added that he will reduce his presence on social media.

Activist Hussein Khalid has earlier confirmed Kibet’s release, saying the cartoonist was on his way home from Vihiga.
