Missing EABL employee Lilian Nyambura  Mbugua found alive

Lilian Nyambura Mbugua, who had been reported missing from her family’s home in Gikono, Kabati, Murang’a County since December 23, has been located safe and sound.

Her family informed the media that the 28-year-old was discovered at a filling station in Maragua Town, Murang’a, early Tuesday December 31, 2024.

“She was weak and confused,” her uncle, George Njuguna, said.

Where Lilian found herself

“She says she found herself at the filling station and told the attendants on duty to call her mother,” he added.

Additionally, Mr. Njuguna mentioned that Lilian, who works as a brand manager at East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) in Nairobi, was taken to a nearby health center.

According to the health officials at the medical facility, she appeared to be “disturbed.”

“We are in touch with her employer and she is set to be taken to Nairobi for further medical attention as police continue to probe the incident,” said Njuguna.

Joyful family gathering before Lilian’s disappearance

Lilian traveled to her mother’s house on Saturday, December 21, to celebrate Christmas.

Everything was going well, and they even went to church together on Sunday, December 22, before heading back home.

The family enjoyed a cheerful breakfast and lunch together the next day, Monday.

However, around 5 p.m., Lilian left their gated community, and her family believed she was just going for an evening stroll.

“It seemed like she had just gone for an ordinary walk around the estate because she was still in her head scarf and slippers. Her mother was doing some house chores in the backyard,” Njuguna previously told the media.
