Mohamed Ali withdraws from Mombasa UDA grassroots elections citing interference

The member of Parliament for Nyali constituency Mohammed Ali has vowed to decamp from UDA’s grassroots elections after discovering Mombasa’s Elections to have been compromised.

Mohammed Ali claimed that the process had been compromised.

Further, he accused the party’s Secretary General of handpicking officials to influence the outcome of the elections in a manner that he termed a “profound conflict of interest.”

Ali criticizes UDA officials

He criticized the party’s internal management.

Alledging that the SG has been micromanaging UDA to serve his own political agenda, sidelining the will of party members and the people of Mombasa.

“This is not only unacceptable, but a grave disservice to the citizens of Mombasa,” Ali stated,

Adding that despite the “disheartening development,” his supporters should remain calm and focused.

“I want to assure all my loyal and supporters that we will not be deterred or fazed.

When the right moment comes and the rubber hits the road, we will confront this head-on,” he affirmed.

Ali emphasized that UDA, like any political party, belongs to its people not to any one individual, regardless of their position .

He warned that if the current leadership continues treating the party as personal property, he and his team will have no option but to decamp.

“We are for the people, and our allegiance will always remain steadfastly with the people,” Ali concluded.
