More than 50 families left homeless in Limuru night inferno

More than 50 families at a village in Limuru Constituency, Kiambu County, have been left homeless as fire reduced their homes to ashes on Saturday, September 2 night.

Reports indicate that the fire started in one of the houses in Farmers Village, before spreading to other houses at around midnight.

Distraught families look on as their homes are reduced to ashes. The fire started at around midnight Saturday, September 2.

Residents who spend the night in cold trying to salvage their property are now calling upon well-wishers to assist them with clothing and other basic needs to restart their life.

The affected families are now calling upon well-wishers to help them with basic needs like clothing, with all their property gutted by the fire.

They are also calling upon the national and county governments to set up a Disaster Emergency Fund meant to support businesspersons affected by fires to rebuild.
