Moses Kuria takes on media house over Maribe’s ‘appointment’

Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has denied allegations that he confirmed Jacque Maribe’s appointment as Head of Communications.

Taking to social media on Thursday evening, shared screenshot of text messages he purportedly shared with Nation Media Group claiming it is falsified information.

“Contrary to reports by the Nation, I have never been interviewed by the media House nor made any comment nor announcement about Jacque Maribe,” he wrote.

CS Kuria went on to challenge the media leadership to provide evidence on the same, threatening to take legal action against them.

The former Trade Minister declared that he will report the matter at Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) today (Friday, March 15).

“I will be at DCI Headquarters at 9.30am tomorrow to report the Nation Media Group and the reporter of fraud and forgery,” Kuria added.

Moses Kuria however asserted that he would stand with Jacque Maribe who has been on the receiving end of online trolls over appointment rumours.

“Meanwhile I stand with Jacque Maribe, my friend for the last 16 years and I will stand with her just like I stood with Gov Kawira Mwangaza in the wake of unjustified bullying,” the former Gatundu South Member of Parliament added.

The two were seen together in Nakuru on Thursday, March 14 during a National Youth Service (NYS) event.

On Thursday,  Public Service Commission (PSC) publicly denied appointing former news anchor Jacque Maribe to any government position.

In a statement seen by TV47 Digital, the appointing authority asserted they did not approve Maribe’s appointment as head of communication in the ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.

Anthony Muchiri, Chair of PSC went on to say that he had not received any requests regarding her nomination for the said position.

Like all other government positions, Muchiri stated that a competitive recruitment process would be followed.

“For the record the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,” he added.
