Mourinho reveals the bad habits he dislikes about Victor Osimhen

Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his admiration for Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen, but he highlighted one behavior that he dislikes about the player after Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan.

Osimhen moved to the Turkish club on loan after proposed moves to leave Napoli fell through due to issues with personal terms and transfer fees. Mourinho, who joined Fenerbahce in June following his dismissal from AS Roma, is set to earn €10.5 million per year as he aims to lead the club to its first title in a decade, according to ESPN.

The “Special One” praised the Nigerian striker’s abilities but also pointed out a habit he finds troubling. “Osimhen is a fantastic player. If I was at a club with the potential to pay 70-75 million, I would buy him. Galatasaray got an absolutely fantastic player,” Mourinho told HT Spor.

However, Mourinho noted a specific issue with Osimhen’s on-field behavior. “I don’t have problems with Victor; in fact, we have a very good relationship. But every time I play against him, I speak with him because I don’t like the way he behaves—he dives too much,” Mourinho explained.

He recounted a conversation with Osimhen during a Roma vs. Napoli match: “I told him, ‘Look, you’re one of the two best African players, it’s you and Salah… you cannot behave like this.’ He dives too much, and that’s my problem with him, but after 10 minutes, we are fine.”

Last season, Galatasaray clinched the league and cup double, narrowly beating Fenerbahce to the title by three points and receiving a walkover in the cup after Fenerbahce refused to play.

Rumors suggest that Osimhen could leave Galatasaray in January if a top European club makes an offer, as the player reportedly agreed to a break clause in his loan deal.
