Police in Moyale, Marsabit County, have arrested a woman in possession of 3.9kg cocaine with a street value of over KSh15 million.
Acting on intelligence, the officers arrested one Viviane Achieng Okello with the banned substance at the Moyale One-Stop Border Point.
At the time of her arrest, Achieng was on her way back to Kenya from Ethiopia.
“Hawk-eyed sleuths spotted the suspicious woman clinging onto her suitcase, who upon questioning exhibited all indicators of need for search,” a police report says.
Achieng was then escorted to DCI Moyale where a thorough search was conducted. The cocaine was discovered stashed in two smaller bags concealed in her toiletries.
“Also found was USD 700 concealed under the inner soles of her shoes. Legal procedures have been instigated,” the report adds.
