MP Gitonga Mukunji urges Government to address key issues affecting citizens

Manyatta Member of Parliament Gitonga Mukunji has called on government officials to prioritize critical issues that directly affect the common mwananchi, emphasizing the need for elected leaders to focus on delivering essential services.

Mukunji highlighted the fact that many residents in his constituency, and across the country, live in poverty and are in urgent need of government support.

Speaking during a public participation event at Kathangariri on a new water project, MP Mukunji underscored the importance of listening to the voices of the people.

He stressed that public engagement is crucial in ensuring that government projects meet the needs of the citizens.

Listening to the People

Mukunji explained that his decision to vote “No” on the Finance Bill and his stance on matters concerning Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua were directly informed by the feedback he received from his constituents.

“I have always believed in listening to what the people are saying. The decisions I make in Parliament reflect the needs and desires of the people I represent,” he stated.

Addressing Poverty and Access to Services

The MP reiterated that most residents in Manyatta, like many across Embu County, are struggling to meet basic needs. He urged government officers at all levels to focus on initiatives that directly improve the livelihoods of the electorate, including projects related to water, health, and education.

Mukunji also called on government officials to be more present on the ground, to hear firsthand what citizens are going through, and to implement policies that will uplift the living standards of the people.
