MP Jalang’o reveals why he missed Ida Odinga’s birthday

Lang’ata Member of Parliament (MP) Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has opened up on why he failed to show up for Ida Odinga’s birthday party.

In a local interview, Jalang’o stated that he was overwhelmed with preparations for the Jalang’o Super League which was launched on Friday.

“I did not make it for Mama Ida’s birthday. We were here until very late and organising this event was not easy. We spent the evening here. By the time I was leaving it was too late,” he explained.

Jalang’o sent out a heartfelt birthday message to Mama Ida who turned 73 years on Thursday, August 24. “Happy happy birthday and may God give you favour.”

When pressed to address his relationship with Azimio leader Raila Odinga, the Lang’ata MP revealed that things have been smooth between them.

“Baba is baba and we have always had a conversation. In fact we were with him the other day and he does not have a problem with me.

“That is like my political father and whom I appreciate. I have said I am an ODM member, I have never left but I am also working with the President who is also my friend,” he reiterated.

Jalang’o’s relationship with President William Ruto was reportedly bearing fruit as his constituency got more roads done within the past year than any other constituency. “And more things are coming.”
