Their mandate is to observe and consider the factors affecting the credibility of the electoral process as a whole.
Observers judge whether the elections have been conducted according to the standards for democratic elections to which the country has committed itself, including national legislation and relevant regional, Commonwealth and international commitments.
The Mission that MP Amollo is heading comprises of 19 states & territories.
Polling stations were opened at 7 am and close at 10pm (06:00-21:00 GMT).
In the elections, Britons are voting to elect members of parliament and new Prime Minister.
This is the country’s first parliamentary election since 2019, when Boris Johnson and his Conservative Party won by a landslide. Since then, Conservative members voted in Liz Truss, who resigned after just 44 days in office before party lawmakers elected Rishi Sunak, the current prime minister.
Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party, is Sunak’s main rival in the race for Britain’s top job.
