Ainamoi MP Benjamin Langat has called on the relevant authorities to investigate, with speed, claims that a foreign national is orchestrating the filming of pornography in the area.
Speaking during the launch of Ainamoi bursary prgramme in Motobo Secondary School, the lawmaker urged the Kericho County Commissioner together with the county police commander to investigate the claims.
“Ati kuna watu kutoka Nigeria na Tanzania wamekuja kukodesha manyumba hapa na wanafanya biashara mbaya. Mimi nataka kaunti kamanda wa Kericho na kamishna wafunge nyumba zote Kerichi zinazotumika kufanya usherati, kutengeza pombe haramu,” MP Langat said.
In recent past, there has been claims made by Motobo residents of a clique of foreign nationals renting houses in the area, and using them as dens of adult content filming.
“Mimi siogopi kusema. Kuna rental houses hapa imechukuliwa na watu wanatoka nchi zingine, naskia mkubwa wao anatoka Nigeria. Hawa watu wanafanya pornography videos za online, na ni karibu na mlango wa shule,” a resident lamented.
The residents say that some 50 culprits were recently arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers but were later released under unclear circumstances.
The legislator is now calling on the government to reign on all persons conducting illegal businesses in the area, and bring them to book.
He further gave a one week ultimatum to the security agencies in the area to shut down all illegal businesses for the betterment of the community.
