Mukuru killings: City Mortuary received 8 bodies, 12 body parts; Sakaja calls for calm

The Nairobi County Government on Sunday, July 14 confirmed that the Nairobi Funeral Home, formerly known as City Mortuary, has received eight bodies and twelve body parts as retrieval efforts continue. The tragic discovery has sent shockwaves in Nairobi.

In an update sent to newsrooms, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja assured residents that the county is committed to offering necessary support to the deceased’s families and the residents of Kware Ward.

“We have mobilized our resources to help the families of the victims once they are identified, including providing psychological support and counseling at the funeral home,” Governor Sakaja stated.

The Governor emphasized that the county disaster management team is actively working with and supporting the affected families alongside other government authorities.

He also appealed for calm as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues its probe to identify those responsible for these heinous acts.

Governor Sakaja further assured that the county would provide ongoing support and keep the families informed with timely updates.

The community is urged to remain patient and supportive as authorities work tirelessly to bring closure to this tragic situation.
