Murima siege?: Gov. Kang’ata advises Mt Kenya Statesman to lay low

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata has come out to advise Mt. Kenya Statesmen to lay low and wait for God.

Governor Kang’ata shared this during an exclusive interview on TV47’s Power and Politics with political journalist George Maringa.

In a calm, witty sitdown interview, Governor Kang’ata shied away from addressing matters of Mt. Kenya region politics.

However, towards the end of the sitdown, Governor Kang’ata had words of wisdom to his fellow Mt. Kenya States men and women.

Responding to Maringa’s inquiry on the restlessness of the Mt. Kenya region politics, Governor Kang’ata shared his hope for a divine way forward.

The Lord is going to give us a way… Of course, the Lord is the almighty, he knows the best case for us,” stated Governor Kang’ata.

Kang’ata: A statesman should lay low

Governor Kang’ata has advised his fellow Mt. Kenya leaders to lay low and wait for divine intervention in Mt. Kenya politics.

The Mt. Kenya region has been experiencing deepening rifts and bitter political fallouts taking place in the full glare of cameras.

One such shift is the growing call to introduce articles of impeachment against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

During the interview with TV47’s George Maringa, Governor Kang’ata avoided naming names of which Mt. Kenya leaders he was advised to lay low.

However, Governor Kang’ata did use the word “Statesman” in his quote on how political figures should conduct themselves during political turmoil.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a Statesman is “an experienced politician, especially one who is respected for making good judgments.

Nevertheless, it is unclear or rather it was left to speculation as to whether he directed his message to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua or not.

Governor Kang’ata quoted historic German Chancellor Otto Von Bismarck stating that Mt. Kenya’s leadership needed to lay low.

The statesman’s task is to hear God’s footsteps marching through history, and to try and catch on to His coattails as He marches past.” Governor Kang’ata quoted.

Governor Kang’ata would later laugh his quote off refusing to comment further on the Mt. Kenya region political rift.

His quote has invited speculation on which statesman his sentiments were directed towards in the Mt Kenya region and what it could mean.
