Murkomen reveals he was enroute to a funeral when plane crashed

Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Transport and Roads Kipchumba Murkomen has broken silence after Saturday morning plane crash.

According to images he shared on social media, CS Murkomen was in the company of Kenya Airports Authority Board chair Caleb Kositany.

“Arrived safely in Nyatike, Migori County with the Chairman Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) to condole with our KAA MD Henry Ogoye who lost his loving mother,” he explained.

The former senator allayed fears from concerned parties who flooded his cell phone with calls and messages seeking to enquire on his health status.

“Earlier on, we had a small mishap and we thank God we are safe. Thank you all for your concerns, prayers and best wishes. God bless you,” he added.

Murkomen and Kositany were involved in a plane crash in Mwacho area, Baringo County on Saturday morning as the chopper they were in attempted to take off.

They escaped unharmed in the incident but were reportedly advised to do a medical checkup.

It is emerging that the chopper registration number 5Y-PKI is privately owned and was hired by the two for Saturday’s mission.

Police were swiftly called to guard the chopper which crashed at Mwacho area awaiting evacuation.
