Kenyan radio presenter and media enthusiast Mwalimu Rachel reveals that the sailors- a gengetone band boy were enticed with meat and alcohol for a collaboration with KRG and Octopizzo.

Mwalimu Rachael used to be the sailor’s manager before their split.

In an interview with the Micheque podcast, she said that she was not informed about either of the collaborations Sailors did with Octopizzo and KRG and only came to know of it when the songs were released online.

“They went and did the song, they were paid with alcohol and meat.” Mwalimu Rachel said.

The ‘Wakiritho’ song they collaborated with Octopizzo was a big hit at the time of its release and has 3.8 million views on YouTube.

She confessed that even though she used to manage sailors, they didn’t involve her as much when making such big decisions.

“In this media business, who will you blame? The smarter one or the dumb one?”  she asked.

She shares more about the sailor’s group saying that if she was the one to decide, Shalkidoh would have been the face of the group and not Miracle Baby.

According to her, Shalkidoh presented himself to be more reasonable among the five and was the peacemaker of the group whenever they had a fallout.

She added that Shalkidoh was the most talented but didn’t get the chance to showcase the talent as they were all living under Miracle Baby’s shadow.

She admits that the group can still make a comeback and thrive if they want but only if they will have good management and wise strategies.
