Cabinet Secretary nominee for Agriculture, Mutahi Kagwe, on Tuesday January 14, 2025 outlined his qualifications for the position before the National Assembly Committee.
He shared how his early years shaped his interest in agriculture, starting with his involvement in the 4K Club while in primary school.
“My journey began in my primary school years when I first picked up agriculture at the 4K Club,” Kagwe said.
“The 4K Club introduced us to agriculture, where I developed my talent in planting trees and more,” he added.
Kagwe emphasized the importance of reviving programs like the 4K Club in schools to support national development efforts.
The former Health CS also mentioned spending his school holidays working in coffee factories, drying beans, and being a member of his high school’s agriculture club.
