Nadia Mukami , has once again captured the hearts of her fans with the release of her highly anticipated album, Queen of the East.

The celebrated Popstar expressed her excitement during the launch; ” I am really really excited , nervous at the same time, it’s my first album, thank you so much for coming through, for coming to support and experience this with me, it means the world to me” . She said.

The title itself is a nod to Nadia’s pride in her East African heritage and her desire to represent the region on the global stage.

WHY QUEEN OF THE EAST?

” Queen of the East because I am a notable female artist from East Africa, I have been topping for quite sometime now and I felt like it’s time to now stamp my mark in the East African scene and Africa in general.” Nadia said.

” I last year won best artist AFRIMMA awards from Kenya East Africa that is , so I felt like it was time now to go fully into claiming the East African throne, because to be honest in Kenya, I’m the queen baby.” She added.

The album features collaborations with some of the biggest names in African music, including Bien of the famous Sauti Soul , Bruce Melody, phina, Okello Max, Prince Indah, Breeder LW, Masauti,Trio Mio, famous Tanzanian artist Rayvanny, Phina, Wendy Shay, Bongo artist Darassa among others .

WHY THOSE NAMES ON THE COLLABORATIONS?

” For the collaborations, I really wanted good music to be on the album and I wanted to collaborate with artists who’ve told their stories in the music and who’ve had an amazing career.

They are the people I’ve longed to work with and they are the best in Africa.” She said.

The African Popstar also expressed her desire to work with certain artists among them being Azawi from Uganda.

“I’d love to work with Azawi from Uganda, I am really a huge fan of her and even though she wasn’t able to be part of the album, I’d really love to work with her in the future.

Her vibe is different and she’s really doing great.” Nadia stated.
