A PSV bus belonging to Buscar Bus Company has burnt down early Monday morning 18th of December.
The 44 bus seater with 27 passengers on board was heading to Nairobi when the incident occurred.
This took place In Mogingo area along Nairobi-Mombasa highway in Makueni County.
Luckily all the passengers escaped the deadly incident and no casualties were reported.
According to Eastern regional police commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan, the fire is suspected to have been caused by faulty wiring.
“It occurred at 3.35 am and it was reported by other road users that there was a bus belonging to Buscar Bus Company which was on fire.”
The Police responded to the scene and established that the bus registration number is KCN 059A luxury Minibus with a capacity of 44 seats on board 27 passengers, driven by Daniel Menza Katana.
The matter was reported to Mtito Andei police station as a fire incident report.
14 seater matatu accident
Meanwhile, the death toll of a recent accident in Makueni County involving a 14-seater matatu has risen to 12.
Two more people succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment on Sunday, December 17.
It is said that the matatu had 17 people on board at the time of the accident.
The matatu lost its breaks before landing in a ditch killing 10 people on the spot.

Elsewhere, 10 people were injured in Lamu after a plane they were travelling in crashed and bursts into flames.
According to reports, the plane hit electric poles at Kiunga airstrip while it was taking off.
The police have since launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
