Nakuru: Angry residents storm mortuary and retrieve body of murdered Activist

Residents of Elburgon town in Molo Constituency, Nakuru County, took to the streets on Sunday January 19, 2025 while carrying the body of activist Richard Otieno.

This was after Otieno, commonly known as Molo President, was found dead in Molo after being attacked by unknown assailants on Saturday night.

In video clips shared on social media, angry Elburgon residents were seen carrying Otieno’s body as they marched along the Njoro-Molo Road, demanding justice.

The furious residents disrupted businesses on Sunday morning, demanding answers and accountability from the police regarding the tragic incident.

Otieno was a vocal critic of the Kenya Kwanza government and local MP Kimani Kuria, as he raised concerns over their failure to fulfill campaign promises.

The late activist, who ran for the Elburgon MCA seat in 2022 but lost, had previously been arrested during the Gen Z protests in Molo for allegedly leading demonstrations in the area.
