Nakuru: Man pleads for help after wife gives birth to quadruplets

A Nakuru man is pleading with well wishers for help after his wife gave birth to four babies (quadruplets).

His wife Susan Jepkemei delivered quadruplets of four girls at the Nakuru level 5 hospital, the 2nd highest multiple birth ever in the history of the facility.

Susan Jepkemei a mother of two girls who hails from Lare in Njoro says it is a unique moment of jubilation for her in her motherhood and parenting journey, as she did not expect to have four babies.

”I am so happy for these children even though the journey has been tough,God has really seen me through in my journey,” she said.

According to Susan, the initial scan report indicated that she was carrying triplets only for her to give birth to four children later, a journey she says was not a walk in the park.

”I did an initial scan and indicated that I was carrying three children. I was so shocked when I gave birth to four children and even my husband was shocked but happy at the same time,” she explained.

Jonathan Mwangi, the father of the children who works as a milk transporter in Njoro

explained that they were planning for their third child.

”I got shocked and excited at the same time since i did not expect that my wife would deliver quadruplets, this has never happened in our family, it is a surprise but we thank God for the blessings,” said Mwangi.

Nurse manager Veronicah Ongwae at the Margaret Kenyatta mother baby wing said that at birth, the babies  weighed 2kg,1.8kg,1.6kg and 1.5kg.

The new born babies are currently at the new born unit and will later be moved to kangaroo mother care.

The family  is now pleading to well wishers for financial support to enable them  continue providing for the  six daughters as they are not financially stable.

”I’m a milk transporter employed at a dairy society and I get paid on commission, my income cannot sustain my family as of now and that is why I am calling on well wishers to support us financially and enable us to provide for the six girls,” Jonathan said.

”It is going to be challenging bringing up these newborns and the two at home, my husband is currently hustling and I am jobless, meeting the needs of my family is a big challenge, I am calling upon well wishers to please help us raise them up,” Jepkemei pleaded.
