Nakuru: Three people killed, 51 injured as bus collides head-on with lorry

Three people were on Saturday, October 7 killed while 51 others seriously injured after a bus they were travelling in was involve in an accident in Kuresoi North, Nakuru County.

The PSV bus – heading towards Eldoret from Nakuru – collided head-on with a lorry before crashing into a car at Nyanja area in Kamara, along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

An ambulance carrying victims of the accident that saw a bus collide with a lorry and a private car at Kamara area along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on October 8, 2023 at around 4 pm.

Confirming the incident, Kuresoi North Sub County Police Commander Judah Gathenge said the 51 persons injured were rushed to Londiani and Molo hospitals.

“The bus was moving uphill and developed mechanical issues. It moved into the lane of oncoming traffic and crashed with a trailer head-on before rolling and crashing a personal vehicle,” said Gathenge.

The police boss also said the injured in critical condition were referred to Kericho Sub-County Hospital.

Those who died are; one male and two children aged 7 years and 10 months.
