Nakuru: Two killed, several injured as PSV matatu ferrying Eritreans rams into truck

Two people were on Saturday, March 16 night killed and several others injured after a vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Syotau area on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

A report filed at Salgaa Police Station says that an 11-seater PSV matatu belonging to Eldoret Shuttles was ferrying Eritreans when it rammed into a stationery truck that had been packed beside the road.

The accident that occured at around 9:40 pm saw the survivors rushed to Nakuru Level Hospital.

“Two unknown died while undergoing treatment while twelve others who sustained both serious and slight injuries have been admitted at the said facility,” the report reads in part.

Preliminary investigations have established that the truck had developed mechanical problems. However, it had been packed beside the road and left unattended without any warning signs.

The identity of the victims could not be established immediately because of language barrier.
