Nambale Secondary School to host joint FIFA Women’s Football campaign

Nambale Secondary School in Busia is gearing up to host a joint FIFA Women’s Football Campaign (WFC) and Football For Schools (F4S) program event on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

This event marks the 6th rollout of the WFC program in Kenya, following successful editions in Nairobi, Nakuru, Turkana, Embu, and Samburu. The Football for Schools program has previously been launched in Kakamega and Embu, making this the third rollout of the initiative.

The event will bring together 30 local primary schools, offering participants the opportunity to enjoy a football festival with numerous small-sided matches. These games are designed not only to build football skills through competition but also to ensure a fun-filled day for the girls involved.

In addition to the football activities, students will benefit from life skills training through special drills aimed at teaching important lessons that go beyond the pitch.

Coaching will be provided by the students’ teachers, who will soon be newly graduated CAF D license holders, thanks to their participation in the ongoing 10-day CAF D course in Busia. These teachers will also gain expertise in using the Football for Schools app, which aids in coaching while imparting essential life skills.

Schools will further benefit from the distribution of footballs, supporting their training and development programs.

This event is designed to offer a memorable experience for everyone involved, combining fun and learning in a supportive environment.
