The dramatic arrest of 3 notorious drug traffickers along Kangundo Road; 15 bags of bhang recovered

Detectives have intensified the war against drug trafficking, making a major breakthrough in the Kenanie area along Kangundo Road, Mavoko Sub County.

In a well-planned operation, officers from the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) and the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) arrested three notorious drug dealers and seized a large amount of cannabis.

Acting on intelligence reports, the detectives focused on a grey Nissan Note, registration number KDE 474W, suspected to be linked to drug smuggling. As soon as the car was spotted, the driver, Fred Ng’ang’a, realized he was being followed and abandoned the vehicle, dashing into a nearby thicket. But the officers were too quick for him. After a brief chase, they caught him and placed him under arrest.

Under pressure, Ng’ang’a confessed to having a hidden stash of drugs. He led the officers to his two-room store, where they uncovered 15 large bags of cannabis—five in one room and ten in another. The discovery confirmed their suspicions about his involvement in drug trafficking.

As the detectives were securing the evidence, another suspicious vehicle, a red Mazda registration number KDR 508J, approached the compound. The driver, Christine Kendi, noticed the police and immediately tried to make a U-turn to escape. However, the officers acted fast and intercepted the vehicle before it could get away.

Inside the car, Christine Kendi and her accomplice, Anjela Kendi, were found transporting four additional sacks of cannabis. The two were immediately arrested, adding to the success of the operation.

The three suspects were taken to Muthaiga Police Station, where they are being processed before being presented in court. Meanwhile, the seized drugs have been taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters for safekeeping as investigations continue.

This successful operation highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to fight drug trafficking and keep dangerous substances off the streets. Authorities have vowed to continue cracking down on those involved in the illegal drug trade to ensure the safety of communities across the country.
