The NCBA Kenya Invitational Junior Golf Tournament concluded with remarkable performances, particularly by India’s Shashwat Harish and Kenya’s Audrey Gachora, who emerged as standout champions in their respective categories.

Shashwat Harish: A Phenomenal 10-Under Par Victory

In the Boys’ 13-14 category, Shashwat Harish delivered an exceptional performance, finishing with a tournament-best score of 10-under par 206.

  • Rounds: 70, 70, and a stunning 66 on the final day
  • Margin of Victory: 23 strokes ahead of runner-up Aidan Gachora (+13, 229)
  • Tied for Third: Uganda’s Shashank Gadre and Kenya’s Mwathi Gicheru (+14, 230)

Reflecting on his triumph, Harish said:

“This is my best tournament score to date. It was mentally and physically challenging, but I am thrilled with my performance. I’m eager to keep improving and competing at this level.”

Audrey Gachora Triumphs in the Girls’ 15-18 Category

Kenya’s Audrey Gachora displayed consistency and resilience to win the Girls’ 15-18 years category with a score of 15-over par 231, edging out close competitors:

  • Second: Maryam Mwakitawa (+18, 234)
  • Third: Bianca Ngecu (+22, 238)

Audrey shared her aspirations:

“Earning WAGR points is a big milestone. My goal is to keep improving, lower my handicap, and eventually turn professional.”

Tsevi Soni Edges Past the Competition in Boys’ 15-18 Category

Kenya’s Tsevi Soni emerged victorious in the Boys’ 15-18 category with a total score of 8-over par 224:

  • Runner-Up: Uganda’s Anthony Otokei (+9, 225)
  • Tied for Third: Kenya’s Nathan Mwangi and Tanzania’s Dhruv Sanjay Patadia (+17, 233)

Notable Performances Across Other Divisions

  • Girls’ 13-14: Kenya’s Brianna Ngecu led with 239 (+23), followed by Yolanda Yu (+27) and Uganda’s Harsshitha Loganathan (+35).

A Tournament to Remember

Hosted at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club, this year’s NCBA Kenya Invitational featured over 110 junior golfers from 10 countries.

The three-day event showcased emerging talent and provided a platform for players to earn World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.
