Ne-Yo, the renowned singer at 43, has been officially recognized as the legal father of his two youngest children.
TMZ shared the heart-warming news, revealing that the talented artist fathered Braiden, two, and Brixton, one.
These two precious children, who have been a recent topic of discussion due to their former fiancée’s revelations about Ne-Yo’s personal life, will now have their last names changed to the hitmaker’s own, Smith, from Bagnerise.
This heartfelt legal recognition came to fruition when Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Chimere Smith, filed for paternity establishment back in May.
His aim was to secure his youngest sons’ inheritance rights, ensuring they would be treated as though they were born to married parents.
Prior to this, Ne-Yo welcomed a daughter, Madilyn Grace, who is now 12, and a son named Mason, 11, with his former girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw.
The couple’s journey began in 2010, and they were on the path to matrimony in 2013.
Regrettably, they canceled their wedding just months before the scheduled date.
Subsequently, the talented performer found love with Crystal Renay Williams, and the two tied the knot in February 2016.
During their marriage, Ne-Yo and Crystal welcomed Shaffer Jr., seven, Roman, six, and Isabella, two.
Their relationship was marked by ups and downs, eventually culminating in their divorce, officially completed in January this year.
Ne-Yo’s ex-wife attributed their separation to his involvement with Bagnerise.
Through it all, Ne-Yo’s love for his seven children has remained unwavering.
Neyo often shares heartwarming moments with them on his Instagram, showcasing his role as a doting father.
In a heartwarming Instagram post last July, Ne-Yo shared several photos of cherished moments spent with his children.

In a heartfelt caption, Ne-Yo expressed, “I’m a father before I’m anything else. Not money, not fame, not even the love of the craft. I do this for them. They are my reason.”
Adding, “I’m nowhere near perfect, and that’s okay. My kids love me. And I’d die, kill, steal, whatever, to make sure they never need for anything. The best thing I’ve ever done.”
