Newlyweds ask guests to pay for their own food

News

A couple in the UK has ignited a firestorm of criticism for charging their guests.

The bride and groom charged their guests an exorbitant £2,000 just to attend their wedding, with no food or drinks included.

The shocking revelation came through a seemingly innocent email, urging guests to click a payment link after their RSVP.

Guests, like Jack, were taken aback when they landed on a payment page demanding nearly £2k for the privilege of attending the wedding.

Suspecting a scam, Jack called the wedding venue, only to discover that the bride and groom were indeed requesting this substantial fee as a contribution towards their dream wedding.

Despite the steep cost, Jack scraped his savings to attend the big day, assuming he could at least enjoy a free bar to make up for it.

But to his dismay, the wedding didn’t include any refreshments.

In fact, guests had to shell out an additional £30 for food and drinks, plus an extra £200 as a mandatory tip to the venue—another surprising demand.

What added salt to the wound was the discovery that the bride and groom had shifted the entire venue cost onto the guests, essentially getting a free wedding.

Moreover, they passed on the tip expense to their guests without prior notice or consent.

This wedding fiasco left many questioning the couple’s sense of entitlement, as they not only burdened their guests with an unexpected financial load but also failed to disclose critical payment details.

It’s an unprecedented move that has rightly triggered outrage and disbelief, challenging traditional norms of weddings and guest expectations.
