Months into the novel coronavirus outbreak, world leaders are pushing their responses to the pandemic to the brink, with a 7PM - 5AM curfew and movement restrictions afoot in Kenya, an unprecedented state of emergency declared in Ethiopia, Hungary, and Japan telling its citizens to avoid a third of the world.

The confirmed number of new cases continued to swell on Wednesday.

Kenya's confirmed cases stand at 216. Globally, 2,014,046 cases have been confirmed. Deaths stand at 127,595 and 491,841 people have recovered from the virus.

 Mainland China reported on Friday that new confirmed cases of the coronavirus fell to a two-week low, as infections involving travellers arriving from abroad sharply fell. - REUTERS

China recorded 26 new cases of the coronavirus in the mainland on Thursday, down from 46 cases a day earlier, according to the National Health Commission.
That was the lowest daily total since April 3.
Of the new cases on Thursday, 15 were imported infections, the lowest since March 17.

The remaining 11 confirmed cases were locally transmitted infections, down from 12 a day earlier.
