243 people test positive as 233 recover

243 people have tested positive bringing the total tally in the country to 39,427. From the cases, 237 are Kenyans while 6 are foreigners. 179 are males and 64 are females. The youngest is a four-month-old infant while the oldest is 80.

The 243 cases were recorded from 4,385 samples, the total samples tested in the country now stand at 563,483.

Distribution of cases by counties is as follows; Nairobi 70, Nakuru 44, Trans Nzoia 30, Kisumu, Mombasa 15 cases each, Narok 13, Kiambu 11, Kericho 10, Kakamega 7, Machakos 6, Isiolo 4, Kajiado, Meru, Bungoma and Nandi 3 cases each, Uasin Gishu 2, Bomet, Laikipia and Kilifi 1 case each.

233 people have recovered from the disease, 219 from the Home Based Care Program while 14 have been discharged from various hospitals in the country. Total recoveries in the country now stand at 26,659.

Unfortunately, 3 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 731.
