Mob justice victim snatched from jaws of death leads police to accomplices

Five teenagers have been arrested in connection to a series of robberies that have hit Nyali area in Mombasa County.
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives arrested the gang after saving one of them from a rowdy mob that was baying for his blood.
The detectives based in Mtwapa rescued 19-year-old Bakari Juma Saidi alias Abu, who locals had linked to several robberies in Kadzandani area within Nyali Constituency.
"Bakari was rescued from the jaws of the angry mob, that had already administered instant justice to the suspect, leaving him with life-threatening injuries," DCI says.
While they were rushing Bakari to hospital, the sleuths obtained crucial leads that later led them to the suspect’s accomplices in Kiembeni Bobo area where more arrests were made.
Those arrested were; David Juma aka Devido, a 19-year-old ex-convict of Shimo La Tewa prison, Marriam Ali, 18, Kamanzi Kikoba, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile locally known as Bibi ya OCS - married to a notorious wanted criminal known as Ali alias OCS.
DCI says the suspects will be charged with robbery, stealing and assault.
