Police in Kericho County are searching for three robbery with violent suspects in the area.

Reports indicate that the men violently robbed a 21-year-old lady inside a public service vehicle as she travelled home on Sunday night.

The lady had boarded the seven-seater Black Toyota Wish at the stage opposite Kipchimatt Supermarket, after a long day of running errands in Kericho town. She was travelling to Chepseon area.

"Opting for the vehicle whose make is popular for transport in the county, the young woman found three male occupants, a driver and two others whom she believed were passengers like her. However, it was a matter of time before the trio turned her holy day of worship into a dreadful experience," reports the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

How the robbery incident happened

After covering about a kilometre, the driver of the vehicle asked for the lady's fare. But as she was reaching out for her purse, the three men reportedly grabbed her by the neck, ordering her to surrender her smartphone and all the money she had.

"The chocked and terrified victim complied, whereby the malefactors threw her from the vehicle at Duka Moja area and sped off," adds the DCI.

Good Samaritans who found her in excruciating pain, DCI says, administered first aid to her, thereafter reporting the incident to the police.
