Paul Murage: Man who confessed to killing wife, 4 children now denies murder charges

On the night of November 28 2021, the 38-year-old man is said to have murdered his wife Millicent Muthoni, 38, and four children namely; Nelly wawira, 13, Gifton Bundi, 7, Shelmith Wambui ,5, and one-year-old Clifton Murange.

Reports indicate he also tried to commit suicide unsuccessfully.

The five were found on their beds with multiple cuts on their heads after Njuki confessed to the murder at Kianyaga Police Station.

Through his State-assigned lawyer Heyi Bruno, Murage applied to be released on bond but prosecution opposed the prayers.

According to State prosecutor Vincent Mamba, the probation officer is yet to conduct an impact assessment on the impact of his possible release.

Consequently, Justice Mwongo directed the probation officer to submit the report within 14 days.

The suspect will be ramanded at the Kerugoya GK Prison until February 28 when the case will be mentioned.
