"Potholes keep getting worse!" - Githurai residents lament over key road

Residents of Githurai in Kiambu County are now calling upon the relevant authorities to come to their aid and repair a key road in the area.
The residents say that they have suffered losses in their daily activities for the last two years while using the dilapidated 'Uncle Sam’ road that links Githurai 44 and Githuarai 45 areas.
“A lot of people including children have been run over by drivers and bodaboda operators who speed off leaving them in critical conditions resulting to some surviving on wheelchairs and clutches," Martha Wangechi told the Star.

Bodaboda operators and vehicle owners are complaining of having to bear extra expenses due to the damage caused by the poorly-maintained road.
"The potholes keep getting worse everyday especially now that it's raining. The people in charge should look this up since we have no other route to use other than this," Mark Kinuthia, a matatu driver, complained.
Residents further say that many businesses have shut down and relocated to other places because of the inaccessibility because of Githurai's poor road network.
