Sacks of Marijuana found in living room, suspect flees

Police in Kiambu County have launched a manhunt for a suspected drug trafficker.
Six sacks and 53 polythene packages of Marijuana were found in the suspect's living room in Ucekeine -Mundoro village, Kiganjo, Kiambu County. The suspect has been named as Samuel alias Sammy Boy.
Police say the Marijuana has a street value of KSh500,000.
"The suspect, who narrowly escaped police dragnet, is being sought for to answer to appropriate charges," says the National Police Service.
Police say they remained focussed in the war against drug and substance abuse.
Marijuana-related arrested have increased in recent past as post crackdown on the growth, distribution and consumption of the drug that has captured national attention after featuring in the political manifesto of one of the candidates in the upcoming general election.
On July 16, police at Ruai, Njiru sub-County uprooted mature Marijuana crop from the compound of a residential house.
On July 6, Kipchumba Michael Kibet went into hiding as soon as police stumbled upon a marijuana ‘green house’ inside his rental house in Elgon View Estate, Eldoret Town.
On the last weekend of June, five suspected Marijuana traffickers were arrested along the Moyale-Isiolo Highway in Samburu County. Forty one stones of the drug -with a street value of KSh2,576,000, was recovered.
