This morning, Ruto hosted a prayer service at his home in Karen, Nairobi. "We are truly grateful as a team. We have seen God’s hand in this journey. We have come to appreciate that men can let you down, but God can’t."

Calling on Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and vote on August 9, he added: "The punishment given to good people who don’t vote is to be led by fools. Good people like us seating here, if you don’t show up to vote should not complain when the wrong people are voted for."
