The hearing of incitement case against EALA MP Florence Jematia has kicked off today.
Jematia was in February this year arrested and taken to DCI offices for questioning after a viral video in which she threatened to arm residents to fight bandits.
In the video, Jematia was captured urging Baringo residents to come up with a pay bill to solicit funds to buy riffles for each homestead in the area. She was in the company of high court advocate Joseph Tarus and GSU officer Geoffrey Kibet.
“We want a PayBill number. We want to buy guns for every household in Mochongoi all the way to Baringo North...If you own a motorbike then you can purchase a gun,” she was captured saying.
The politician was later released on a KSh1 million bond by a Kabarnet Law Courts after spending two days in police custody.
After her sentiments, Jematia - who is the Baringo Woman Rep. UDA candidate received backlash and support in equal measures.
