Ruto: There is no room for vengeance, looking back
- In his acceptance speech at the Bomas of Kenya, president-elect William Ruto said that he will not seek vengeance against any person who wronged him.
Ruto insisted that the country needs everyone to move forward and achieve its democratic dream, and that nobody was a loser.
President-elect William Ruto has said that his government will not avenge any wrongdoing he has faced in his political journey.
Speaking on Monday after being handed the presidential certificate at the Bomas of Kenya, Ruto said that his government was going to work with everyone including anyone who has done anything wrong to him and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua.
"I know many are wondering especially those who have done many things against us, I want to tell them they have nothing to fear, there is no room for vengeance and there is no room for looking back, we are looking into the future," Ruto said.
Ruto says that the country needs everyone to move forward and achieve its democratic dream.
"I am acutely aware that our country is at the state where we need all hands on deck to move it forward. We do not have the luxury to look back, potion blame, or point fingers. We must close ranks and work together for a functioning, democratic and prosperous nation," he added.
